DMV representative speaks to Danville Optimist Club

The Danville Optimist Club welcomed Paige Powell as guest speaker for the Oct. 22 meeting.

Powell has worked for the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles for eight years and currently is a customer service senior representative.

The topic was the Real ID program being implemented across the country and its impact on domestic air travel, access to federal buildings and military installations. Other details included what documentation is required to update a driver’s license or identification card to be compliant.

Powell also mentioned the local DMV has a mobile unit that serves the Chatham area.

The Optimist Club meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. at Golden Corral in Danville.
