Danville School Board member Steven Gould announced Friday he will not run for re-election in May.
“When I was elected to the Danville School Board in May 2014, I was humbled by the faith and trust placed in me by the members of our community,” Gould wrote in a news release.
Gould cited his new business, Byrnes Gould Law, as part of the reason that he will not seek re-election, as well as “personal reflection.”
“I remain committed to increasing educational opportunities for the children of our community and look forward to exploring other opportunities to serve the city that I love after the conclusion of my term in June,” Gould wrote.
So far, no new candidates have announced intentions to run in the May election.
