Drive-thru program helps to feed children in Hurt

Since schools shut down in March in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, government officials, community members and local businesses and churches have partnered to provide meals and snacks to area children twice a week. Every Monday and Friday, a group sets up at Hurt Elementary School, where they have a drive-thru system in place , allowing for contactless pickup. With donations from many organizations and individuals, "we are in a position we should be able to go until school starts," Hurt Mayor Gary Hodnett said.
