Danville holds 'Big Share' celebration event downtown
City officials hosted the "Big Share," a community block party honoring everyone who took the time to share their views about what the community needs to make Danville a better place to live and work. The event on North Union Street featured live music, food trucks, community-building activities and a display of takeaways from “Plan Danville’s” months-long community input effort. More than 1,000 residents participated in a survey about what they would like to see done to improve Danville. The Big Share was the first big public Plan Danville event of the year that provided the first chance to learn what everyone had to say about Danville’s and the community’s priorities for a quality future. Plan Danville is a community planning process to develop the city's comprehensive plan: a 20-year policy document that is reviewed every five years and acts as a guide for land use development, zoning, and prioritization for future development.
