Kennedy pleads guilty in federal court in Danville abduction case

Carl Ray Kennedy pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday on a charge related to the abduction of his estranged daughter last year.

Appearing in U.S. District Court in Danville, Kennedy, 52, pleaded guilty to interstate violation of a protective order.

He is currently serving six years in a Virginia prison for kidnapping Emma Grace Kennedy - who was seven months old at the time - in June 2018.

His sentencing on the federal charges is set for Jan. 7, 2020.
