A 100-foot mural that serves as a backdrop for a water stop and bike repair station along Danville's Riverwalk Trail near Dan Daniel Park is officially completed. After receiving a grant, Danville three Rotary Clubs — Riverview Rotary, Danville and After Hours — launched the colorful and creative project. The Rotary Park was designed by Rotarian Kim Demont with Demont Designs and painted by more than 20 Rotarians and friends. The clubs also collaborated with Danville Parks and Recreation to make the project happen. “This is not the first time Rotarians have partnered with the city,” said Bill Sgrinia, director of Danville’s Parks and Recreation. “Danville has benefited from Rotary’s commitment to investing in the baseball fields, boathouse, playgrounds, trail signage, park funding and public art.” The Riverwalk trail sees thousands of visitors from throughout the region per year.
