Foul play is not suspected in a gunfire-related death in Keeling on Sunday afternoon, the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office reports.

At about 5:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the 1300 block of Reeves Mill Road in Keeling after a caller reported he was having trouble breathing.

First responders from the Blairs Volunteer Fire Department arrived to find a man dead in the yard of the home. Deputies also responded.

"The investigation supports that the cause of death is firearm related," Devin Taylor, an investigator with the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office, wrote in a news release.

Foul play is not suspected, Taylor wrote.

The body will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke to determine the official cause and manner of death.

The man's name was being withheld until immediate family has been notified.

About an hour before, deputies were called to the other side of the county for another shooting death.

A shooting at the 2000 block of Martin Drive left a person dead, said Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Campbell, who said he could not provide further details on the incident that was reported at just after 4 p.m. Sunday.
