James Courtland Hilton, 69, of 127 London Dr., Danville, Va., passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Giles County, Va., on July 11, 1946 to the late Hazel Sanders Hilton and the late Earnest Hilton. He was married to Betty Grimes Hilton, who survives, of the residence. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved NASCAR. He was retired from Dan River, Inc. after 45 years as a lead electrician. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Dan River Church.In addition to his wife, Mr. Hilton is survived by a son, James Allen Hilton and wife, Karen of Danville, a daughter Wendy Gale Hilton of Danville, two sisters, Arabelle Goodwin of Christiansburg, Va. and Naomi Carbaugh of Narrows, Va., three grandchildren, Kristen Grabowski, Emily Hilton, and James Tyler Hilton, and one great-granddaughter, Makenzie Grabowski. He is also survived by a special brother-in-law, Steve Bremer of Pembroke, Va, and many special friends on Red Hill. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hilton is predeceased by a brother, Earnest "Bud" Hilton and a sister, Betty Ann Bremer. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Norris Funeral Services, Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, Va, with Pastor Scott Randlett officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, Va.The family will receive friends at Norris Funeral Services, Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA, on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 1 – 2 pm and at other times at the residence, 127 London Dr., Danville, Va.
