On June 4, Danville Kiwanis Club members learned about the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing program located on the campus of the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research. ATDM is funded by the United States Navy and students in the 16-week program are trained in the skills needed to repair, upfit and build submarines. Upon graduation, students are placed in employment connected to additive manufacturing, CNC machining, non-destructive testing, quality control inspection and welding.
