The City of Danville is celebrating the graduation of eight local small businesses from Can You Reach Me Now: Holiday Campaign Lab, a six-week marketing workshop designed to help entrepreneurs and small business owners strengthen their holiday marketing strategies.
Participating businesses included Potty’s Crafty Corner, IALR Conference Center, Karen's Hallmark Shop, Lillie Grace Photography, Links Coffee House, Marlow Services, Omni Chic, and Sage and Solstice Women's Health Spa.
"Small businesses are the backbone of Danville's economy, and programs like the Holiday Campaign Lab are designed to give entrepreneurs practical tools they can put into action immediately,” said Project Manager Samantha Bagbey. “Over the past six weeks, participants didn't just learn about marketing, they developed real holiday campaigns, received expert guidance, and built connections with other business owners. Our goal is to help businesses grow with confidence, increase their visibility, and be better positioned for success during one of the most important sales seasons of the year."
Throughout the series, participants identified effective marketing channels, analyzed target audiences, established realistic budgets and timelines, developed campaign messaging, created written and visual content, and prepared a final marketing campaign presentation.
“I really enjoyed the Holiday Marketing Workshop,” said Lillie Grace Photography Owner, Tytiana Davis. “I gained valuable marketing tips, discovered new ways to use Canva, and made meaningful connections that led to great partnerships. It’s a wonderful opportunity for any small business looking to learn, grow, and connect.”
Businesses that completed all six workshop sessions became eligible for marketing implementation funding provided by the DOEDT. Participants will receive $250 toward implementing the holiday marketing plan developed during the workshop. Businesses that provide a $250 match will receive an additional $250 from the program, creating a total implementation budget of $750.
The Holiday Campaign Lab is part of the City's ongoing efforts to support small businesses through educational programming, technical assistance, and resources that help entrepreneurs grow and succeed.
