Ferrell is the executive director of the Temporary Relief and Counseling Center located at 625 Shelton St. After explaining the many activities at the center, including case management, food distribution, and cooling center and emergency warming center support, Ferrell stated that it is his goal to raise $250,000 to construct shower facilities and a commercial-grade kitchen that will expand services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and economic hardship throughout the Dan River Region.
