The City of Danville Planning Division will close its offices Monday, July 27, through Wednesday, July 29, to allow staff to participate in and support the 2026 American Planning Association (APA) Virginia Chapter Annual Conference, which is being hosted in Danville.
Offices will reopen for normal business hours on Thursday, July 30.
"During this time, we ask for your patience with any communications sent to our team," said Renee Burton, division director. "While we remain committed to providing excellent customer service, we are also eager to take full advantage of this opportunity to further our professional development and highlight the strengths of our community to visitors."
The City of Danville is hosting planning professionals from across Virginia for the annual conference, which will take place July 26–29. The event brings together planners, community development professionals, and related experts for educational sessions and networking opportunities.
Hosting the conference provides an opportunity to showcase Danville's continued growth, revitalization, and planning initiatives while allowing staff to participate in valuable professional development.
