Moving to a new month, Rail Days drew visitors to the Danville Science Center on Saturday and Sunday to watch tiny trains roll through detailed landscapes.

It marked the first time the event moved from September, when it debuted in 2003, to mark the 100th anniversary of Virginia’s most famous train disasters in Danville, known as the Wreck of the Old 97.

The Danville Science Center’s event draws model train enthusiasts from across the East Coast to show off their creations.
