Families flock to Free Fishing Friday in Danville

Adults and children gathered at Abreu-Grogan Park last week for Free Fishing Friday hosted by Danville Parks and Recreation. It was part of Virginia's Free Fishing Weekend, where the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources waives fishing license requirements. Jim Mullins, with the Danville Life Saving Crew, educated participants on water safety, and officer Tyler Thompson, with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, helped participants by sharing tips about responsible fishing.
